iSCALE Control System Increases Safety in Excavators
(NL/8075247603) An end to overhead collisionsa new application for the iSCALE Control System from Hirschmann Mobile Machine Control Solutions (MCS) warns the machine operator when the excavator reaches its maximum permitted height. The company has teamed up with ELWC in Australia to combine the cSCALE Control System with the vSCALE D2 console in a height-restricting application for excavators. A PSV module library developed by Hirschmann MCS enables fast, flexible implementation of custom-tailored versions.
The PSV modules are easy to use with CoDeSys without advanced SPC programming skills. The application lets the machine operator use the vSCALE D2 control console to easily and flexibly adjust the height limit. This significantly improves safety. The customer can also conveniently calibrate the integrated sensors using a service menu on the vSCALE D2 console without having to modify the application program. When the defined maximum height is reached, the corresponding functions are switched off via digital outputs. Height restriction can be activated and deactivated as wished using the vSCALE D2 console or via a digital input (e.g. using a key-operated switch). When 90 and 100 percent of the allowed height is reached, visible and audible warnings go off and information on the defined states of the digital outputs is displayed.
